We take data protection seriously

Protecting your privacy when processing personal data is an important concern for us. The key points at a glance:

• This website does not set any cookies and does not use tracking for advertising purposes.
• We compile visitor statistics with Plausible Analytics – without cookies, without storing your IP address and without user profiles.
• Information you send us via the enquiry form or an online configurator is used exclusively to process your enquiry.
• The website is hosted by Render; the enquiry form is protected against spam by Cloudflare Turnstile.

Personal data

You can use this website without providing any information about yourself. We only process personal data – such as name, address or email address – insofar as this is technically necessary to operate the website or you send them to us yourself, for example with an enquiry.

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Render: Render Services, Inc., USA (“Render”). Render delivers the pages via a worldwide network of servers (content delivery network). When a page is accessed, Render processes information that your browser transmits automatically (server log files):

• date and time of the request
• name of the requested file
• page from which the file was requested
• access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
• web browser and operating system used
• IP address of the requesting computer
• amount of data transferred

Processing is carried out pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing our website securely, reliably and quickly. These data are not combined with other data sources.

Documents and downloads

Catalogues, CAD data, videos and other files for download as well as the GF-ION service download portal are provided via our previous web server. When a file is retrieved, this server processes the same log data as described above.

For reasons of technical security, in particular to defend against attacks on our web server, these data are stored for a short period. Processing is carried out pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Cookies and storage in the browser

This website does not set any cookies.

So that you do not have to enter your contact details more than once, your browser stores the information from the enquiry form and from the “Request quotation” and “Request CAD data” forms of the online configurators locally on your device (web storage “localStorage”, entry “syskomp-kontakt”): salutation, name, email address, company, department, address and – only if you request a call-back – telephone number. On your next visit, the forms are pre-filled with these details. These data are not transmitted to us in the process; this only happens when you submit an enquiry. They remain stored until you delete them in your browser (for example via the “Clear site data” setting).

Visitor statistics with Plausible Analytics

For visitor statistics we use Plausible Analytics provided by Plausible Insights OÜ, Västriku tn 2, 50403 Tartu, Estonia (“Plausible”). Plausible does not set cookies and does not store any information on your device. Your IP address is not stored: Plausible combines it with information about your browser and a random value that changes daily to create an identifier that can no longer be attributed after 24 hours. This means that neither we nor Plausible can recognise you over several days or across other websites.

The following are recorded:

• pages accessed and time of access
• referring website or campaign
• browser, operating system and device type
• country, region and city (derived from the IP address; the IP address itself is not stored)
• certain actions on the website, for example submitting an enquiry, using a configurator, downloading a file or clicking a link to another website

The data are processed on servers in the EU and are only evaluated by us in aggregated form. Processing is carried out pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in statistically evaluating the use of our website and improving content and configurators. As no information is stored on or read from your terminal device, consent pursuant to Section 25 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) is not required.

Making contact

When you contact us (e.g. via contact form, email, telephone or social media), the details of the persons making the enquiry are processed to the extent necessary to answer the contact enquiries and any measures requested.

Contact enquiries within the scope of contractual or pre-contractual relationships are answered in order to fulfil our contractual obligations or to respond to (pre-)contractual enquiries and, in all other cases, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering the enquiries.

• Types of data processed: master data (e.g. names, addresses), contact data (e.g. email, telephone numbers), content data (e.g. entries in online forms).
• Data subjects: communication partners.
• Purposes of processing: contact enquiries and communication.
• Legal bases: performance of a contract and pre-contractual enquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Enquiry form: We transmit the details you enter in the enquiry form (salutation, name, email address, company, department, address, your request and, if you request a call-back, your telephone number) in encrypted form via a forwarding service at Render to our own server. From there, the enquiry reaches our sales team by email and is stored in our sales system.

Completion of the town: So that you do not have to type in the town, the form suggests the matching town after you enter the postcode. The assignment of postcodes to towns is stored as a table on our own web server, and your browser loads it from there. No data is transmitted to third parties. The postcode data is provided by GeoNames (licence CC BY 4.0).

Spam protection with Cloudflare Turnstile

To protect the enquiry form against automated entries (spam), we use Cloudflare Turnstile provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”). Turnstile is only loaded when you scroll to the enquiry form. In the process, in particular your IP address, information about your browser (user agent, TLS characteristics) and the calling website are transmitted to Cloudflare and evaluated in order to determine whether the entry was made by a human.

Processing is carried out pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting our form against misuse and spam. Insofar as information is stored on or read from your terminal device in the process, this is strictly necessary for the transmission of the form that you have requested (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the transfer to the USA is based on the adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). Online configurators

Our online configurators (belt conveyors, roller conveyors, lifting units, transfer systems, profile frames, workplace systems) are part of this website. To calculate prices, the configurator sends the selected configuration – without any personal details – via the forwarding service at Render to our server.

If you request a quotation or CAD data, we additionally transmit your contact details together with the configuration by the same route. You receive the quotation or CAD data by email. Processing is carried out pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR in order to take pre-contractual steps at your request.

Fonts

We deliver the Noto Sans font used on this website from our own server. No connection to servers of Google or other providers is established in the process.

Links to other websites and social networks

Among other things, we link to our profiles on LinkedIn and YouTube, to our online shop and to partner websites. These are simple links, not embedded plugins: data are only transmitted to the respective provider when you click on a link. The respective provider is responsible for the processing on the linked website.

Security

We have taken technical and organisational security precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. Our employees and the service providers working for us are bound by the applicable data protection laws. The connection between your browser and this website is encrypted (TLS/https).

Your rights

You have the following rights with regard to your personal data:

• Access – whether and which data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
• Rectification of inaccurate and completion of incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• Erasure of your data, unless statutory retention obligations prevent it (Art. 17 GDPR)
• Restriction of processing, for example while the accuracy of your data is being verified (Art. 18 GDPR)
• Data portability of the data you have provided to us, in a common, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR)

To exercise these rights, please contact us or our data protection officer. In case of doubt, we may request additional information to confirm your identity.

Right to object

If we process your data on the basis of legitimate interest, you may object to this data processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR); this would also apply to profiling based on these provisions. We will then no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. You may object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes at any time without giving reasons.

Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). You are welcome to contact us or our data protection officer first so that we can clarify your questions.

We update this privacy policy when the data processing on our website changes. The version published here applies.
